Birthday Cards, Stampin' Up!

Butterfly Birthday

Hello everyone! Here is a card I’ve been meaning to share for awhile. I CASEd it from Lisa Young, another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. You can view the original card on her blog. As you can see, I added the Bermuda Bay layer behind the stamped layer. I also used the Bitty Butterfly punch because the embosslits that Lisa used are retired. There are a few other differences, but I’ll let you pick them out yourself. 🙂

Butterflies

I just love this sentiment stamp set, “Happy Birthday Everybody”. As you can see, there are all sorts of sentiments for a variety of birthday cards. My husband said I would only be able to use the “to a wonderful man” for him. 🙂 I thought that could work for dads and grandpas too.

ButterfliesInside

I thought it was fun stamping the big sentiment on the inside of the card. Seemed a little “outside of the box” in a fun way.

The Whisper White stamped layer is 3″ x 4 1/4″ and the Bermuda Bay layer is 3 1/8″ x 4 3/8″. The card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″. I used Snail Adhesive to adhere the Whisper White layer to the Bermuda Bay layer. Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the Bermuda Bay layer over the card base.

A “Lovely” Masculine Birthday Card

Hello everyone! As I was making this card it struck me that I was making a masculine card with a stamp set that has the word “lovely” in its title. 🙂

Masculine

This gorgeous stamp set is called “Lovely as a Tree”. It makes for some great masculine cards as well as beautiful Christmas Cards.

This tree stamp is my favorite image in this set. I absolutely love using markers to color the tree and trunk so the image looks more realistic.

Tree

I thought it would be a fun touch to stamp the envelope flap to match the card. The stamp I used for the card background and envelope flap is called “Hardwood” (more masucline, eh? 🙂 ) Be warned, it is a very large stamp. I recommend laying the stamp face up on your work surface, inking it up, and then laying the cardstock on the stamp. The last step is to lay a scrap piece of copy paper over the top so you can rub well over the entire cardstock to get an evenly inked image.

I hope you are inspired to create with the “Lovely as a Tree” & “Hardwood” stamp sets. I know you’ll create some awesome Masculine cards!

Birthday Cards, Stampin' Up!

Under the Sea Birthday Card

Hello everyone! Today’s card is a fun kid’s birthday card.  Make’s me think of the Little Mermaid song, “Under the Sea”. I used the 5th largest Circle Collection Framelits Die for the Real Red circle and I punched out the octopus (isn’t he adorable?) with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch.

Sea Street

The stamp set I used is “Sea Street”. There used to be some coordinating DSP (Designer Series Paper) but, sadly, that retired with the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog. But we still have this adorable stamp set to play with!

As you may have noticed, there was no sentiment on the front of this card. I saved that for the inside. I like signing my name in the lower right hand corner so I strategically placed the fish in corners that wouldn’t interfere with that.

Inside Sea Street

I used a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock scored at 2″ from one end and 3 1/2″ from the other end. The front Whisper White layer is 4″ x 3 1/4″. The inside Whisper White panel is 4″ x 5 1/4″.

Here is a close up of those adorable tiny fish.

You’re Just the Sweetest

Hello everyone! Today’s card is simple and sweet. It makes me think of my mom, who loves oranges. I think this sentiment works fantastically for a “thank you” card or a “birthday” card. You could even send it to a friend for a “just because” card. Versatility is always a plus, am I right? 🙂Oranges

The sentiment comes from the stamp set “Apple of My Eye”. This set has really grown on me. I recommend Pinterest-ing for a few minutes to browse more adorable card ideas with this stamp set. 🙂

What I love most about this sweet little card is the glint of Wink of Stella that is brushed over both oranges.  This picture below doesn’t do the sparkliness justice, but I hope you can see a little bit of it.Oranges Close Up

Happy Day to You

Hello everyone! Today’s card is pretty basic, but still packs a punch!  I am intending it to be a “birthday” card, but I think the sentiment is pretty versatile and could work as a “congratulations” card or “just because” card as well.

Happy Day Angled

I used the Perfect Pairings Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set on this card. This stamp set is one of the many awesome products that you can choose for free through the end of March with a $50 order. I would be honored if you would choose me as your demonstrator, if you don’t already have one. You can see all the Sale-A-Bration products in the SAB Brochure and SAB Flyer. I love washi tape, but find myself struggling to remember to use it. When I do remember, I usually want to showcase it and make it the focal point of my card, like I did today. Another fun way is to have little pieces popping out behind a banner like an accent. I love the bright colors in the Cherry on Top Washi Tape I used on today’s card.Happy Day

Do you struggle to find a use for the tiny Rhinestones that are connected? Rather than cutting them apart and using them individually, try using them as they come. One of my favorite ways to do that is on the body of a butterfly as shown below.

I hope you are inspired to create with some washi tape too!
