“What a Gem” Paper Pumpkin Kit Bonus Card

Hello everyone! Today’s card showcases the stamp set from the July Paper Pumpkin kit, “What a Gem”. I decided to show a Paper Pumpkin card because Stampin’ Up! recently introduced a Bogo Paper Pumpkin promotion. Below are the suggested projects for the kit contents. I plan to fill these little 3D geometric shaped containers with candy.and give them to the teachers at the high school I used to teach at on the first day of school.

A few months ago, I started offering a Paper Pumpkin class where we make cards using the past month’s Paper Pumpkin stamp set. I’ve really enjoyed being creative and getting even more bang for my buck out of the Paper Pumpkin kits. 🙂

Silver Gem Card

I love using glimmer paper, but I don’t usually pull it out. This kit’s name, “What a Gem” inspired me to think shiny and sparkly. I’m glad it did, because I just love shimmer it adds to this card. Silver Gem Card

I am a huge embossing powder fan. I was sad when Stampin’ Up! retired most of their colored embossing powders, but am glad they left us the metallic colors so we can add that gorgeous shine to our cards. 🙂

In Color Consolation Card

Hello everyone! Here is another card layout I created for my In Color Class last month. It was the first time I used this sentiment from “Butterfly Basics”. It was fun to put another stamp to use.  I think this sentiment is meant to console a friend when times are hard or something didn’t work out for them.

I had intended to put a Soft Suede layer behind the white layer on the Dapper Denim card, but my fingers got away from me. I think the card is beautiful either way, with a colored layer or without. The Whisper White layer is 5 x 3 3/4″ and the Basic Black layer is 5 1/8 x 3 7/8″.Caterpillar

I absolutely love this butterfly stamp. The collage pattern is so charming. I just love it in this soft purple (Sweet Sugarplum), but it is also gorgeous in the more bold Dapper Denim.Caterpillar Sweet Sugarplum

I was sad to see the candy dots embellishments retire with the last annual catalog, but I am glad to say I have found the In Color Enamel Shapes just as delightful and fun to use. On the butterfly I used the larger size enamel dot on the top and the smaller size enamel dot on the bottom.

Caterpillar Dapper

This butterfly stamp is so amazing, it even looks great without being die cut. Look how beautiful it is simply stamped on the envelope!

I hope you are inspired to create with the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set and the 2016-2018 In Color Enamel shapes.  I’d love to see what you come up with. If you send me your creations at stephaniemackey2012@gmail.com, I might add them to a future blog post. 🙂

Joyful stamping!
