Botanical Blooms Thank You

Hello everyone! After a few months of eyeing up the Botanical Blooms Bundle from the new Ocassions Catalog, I finally purchased it! There are so many coordinating framelits for the stamp set and designer series paper. This is a bang-for-your buck kind of bundle! Check out the entire Botanical Gardens Suite in the Occasions Catalog on p. 26-27.

Here is what comes in the bundle (minus the cute little sample project):

The bundle costs $51.75. That earns you a free Sale-A-Bration product!

I must admit, I was a little intimidated by the sheer number of framelits in this bundle. I didn’t know where to start or how to create those cute little arrangements I saw everywhere on Pinterest. I spent a few weeks looking and getting familiar with the bundle so that when I sat down to plan my own card, I was much more confident.

Botanicals Angle

This Botanical Gardens product suite coordinates with two Sale-A-Bration Products, the Botanicals for You stamp set and the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack. Check them out in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. You can see a little strip of one of the eight vellum paper designs on today’s card. I also showcased my favorite framelit on this card: I just love the flower with the cut out petals! All stamping (besides the sentiment) is tone on tone (same color ink as the cardstock).

The Sale-A-Bration vellum paper coordinates super well with the Botanical Gardens DSP (Designer Series Paper). Here are the 6 double-sided designs from this DSP set.

I hope you are inspired to create with all the amazing products in the Botanical Gardens Suite.

Birthday Breakfast Card

Hello everyone! Today’s card was created with a past Paper Pumpkin stamp. If you don’t already subscribe to these monthly project kits, I strongly encourage you to do so now, especially after all the fun I’ve had researching alternate projects recently.  As a Paper Pumpkin kit subscriber you are able to purchase a variety of past kits or refills for past kits. The refills do not include the stamp set or ink spot, but they do include the other supplies.eggs

This card makes me think of the birthday guy or gal receiving a special birthday breakfast. That’s what I told my husband when he said, “What do eggs have to do with your special day?” He has no imagination, no imagination. lol

The stamp set I used on this card is from the June 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit, “Happy Thoughts”. I have seen a lot of cool alternate projects with this stamp set and definitely plan to do some more creating with it. 🙂 This “Happy Thoughts” kit is not currently one of the past kits for sale, but it could be in the future!

Here are the two projects from the kit instructions.

I CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) my card from a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Hollyann Obier. Thanks for the inspiration Hollyann! I encourage you to check out Hollyann’s version to see how my card differs from hers.

Here is a close up of the “eggs”, which were fussy cut. I picture the Designer Series Paper (4 1/4 x 2 1/2″) as the kitchen wallpaper where this birthday breakfast was served. 🙂 Hollyann had the fabulous idea of coating the egg yolk with Crystal Effects to give it the glossy look of runny eggs. What a perfect touch! If you look closely, you might be able to see that the cute little “plate” (3rd smallest Ovals Collection Framelits) is also stamped (Blackberry Bliss ink) with the flower stamp used for the “eggs”. A subtle touch, but a nice one. 🙂Eggs Close Up

Creating the spatula: I sketched the spatula using one from my kitchen as inspiration, cut it out, and used the Word Window Punch to punch out the three slits. How cool, right? It did take me a few tries to get the parts of the spatula that connects to the handle to match closely enough. I think the time was well spent though. 🙂 I am going to trace it so that it goes quicker when I make other versions of this card.

Stampin' Up!, Valentine's Cards

I’m Lost Without You

Hello everyone! Today’s project is a real treat . . bag! 🙂 Sorry, I couldn’t resist. It’s been awhile since I have created with my Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies, but it was just as fun as the first time I used them. It was even more fun using my World Traveler embossing  folder to emboss the treat bag. I had some Tootsie Rolls on hand, so I used those in my treat bag. Valentine’s Day is fun with cards, but even more fun with cards AND candy!

Pocket Treats

I love all the coordinating pieces that come in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies set. You can create so much more than just a treat bag.The star and heart pieces can be used to make cute little windows to showcase the treats tucked inside. I especially love the little sentiment pieces – they really pop!

Here is a close up of the layering. All of these pieces, except for the little red heart, are from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies set. The little red heart is from the Hearts Border Punch.

Pocket Close Up

The pink hearts are the hearts that were punched out from the hearts banner. Waste not, want not. 🙂 The heart, star, and circle banners only cut out the inside shapes, not the outside, so you need to cut your cardstock to  3/4 x 3 3/4″. The whisper white sentiment banner is 1/2 x 2 3/4″.

Below is the World Traveler Embossing Folder I used on this treat bag. It can also be used as a stamp. Just use a brayer tool to ink up one side, stick your cardstock inside, close it up, and apply pressure. Cool, right?

Another idea is to use the mini treat bag as a card pocket. You could stick a cute little note in there. The treat bags make pretty cute envelopes. 🙂

Pocket

I hope you are inspired to create some cute Valentine’s too! I highly suggest trying out the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies when you do!

My Greatest Adventure: “Going Global”

Today’s card showcases the Going Global stamp set. I think it is my favorite set from the new Occasions Catalog.  I love that this set can work for Valentine’s cards, what with Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, but also as thank you, appreciation, just because, masculine, and Father’s Day cards.

Greatest Adventure front

The sentiments in this sweet set pair so well with the images. I just adore them. 🙂 I love that the “You are my greatest adventure” sentiment stamp pairs so well with the Sweetheart Punch (see supplies at end of post).

Here is a side view of the card. The embossing was done with the coordinating World Traveler Embossing Folder (see supplies at end of post). I sponged the Pink Pirouette cardstock with Blushing Bride ink. I popped the embossed layer up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.  That cute little strip of Designer Series Paper is a constellation design from the coordinating Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack. Lots of really neat designs in this DSP Stack.GA Left Angle

From the other side view you get a good look at the cute little globe. I stamped in Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and punched it out with the 2″ Circle Punch.  In browsing Pinterest for inspiration before before making this card, I was inspired to break out my Tea Lace Paper Doilies. I don’t use them very much, but I like the elegance this little bit brings to the card.

GA Right Anglew

I finished the card off with a cute little bow made from some thick linen thread. I think it was a from some leftover Paper Pumpkin supplies. Click the orange Paper Pumpkin image to the right for more information about these monthly crafting kits.

I just had to use the little (big?”) dipper constellation on the inside of my card to tie it together with that DSP scrap from the card front. I also stamped it on the envelope for some more fun coordination.

GA Card and Envelope

I hope you too are inspired to do some crafting with the Going Global stamp set and coordinating projects. It’s an adventure!
