Vacation Pictures, Awesome Gift Set Box, & Year End Sale

Hello everyone! I am glad to be posting again after my unplanned Christmas vacation from blogging. I had high hopes of posting regularly through all of the busyness, but sadly I just was not able to. New Year’s resolution: post every other day!

I hope you will enjoy these pictures from of my Christmas celebrations and my trip to TX last week to visit relatives. Sadly, my husband was not able to join my daughter (Scarlette) and I as we visited with some of my cousins and my Aunt & Uncle.

Here is Scarlette getting kissed from my cousin’s son and not being very excited about finding the pickle ornament. She even got a Hello Kitty stuffed animal as a prize! (This is my aunt and uncle’s tradition that I had not heard of – it was fun!)

Pictured above are all the family that were present, minus my uncle.

Below is the picture of just cousins and their children. One child is missing from the picture.  The three boys go with the smallest woman in the middle. She is 27! Scarlette is hiding under the blanket. 🙂

Below is the little boy who was missing from the above picture. His mom and sister are in the other picture with Scarlette. Sorry the pictures are a little dark.

My husband and I with Scarlette as she opens presents from Granny and Grandpa. Yes, my mom wants to be called “granny” by her grandchildren. 🙂

Awesome Gift Box Set

I should confess, part of the reason I haven’t posted in so long is that I’ve been crazily making tons of these awesome card holders and using up tons of retired Designer Series Paper. I found this project on another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator’s blog, Dee Slater.

I reworked the directions so they made more sense to me. I knew I would be using them a lot! Let me know via comment if you have trouble opening these directions.  If you don’t want to splurge and get 12 x 12 cardstock for the belly band, you can cut two pieces to 6 1/2 ” and adhere them together to make them 12 inches. They will overlap an inch.

I love the belly band!

Main Separates

I think of this as a personal little stationary kit. Who do you know that would love this?

Main Inside

Here are the cards I made to stick inside.

Main Card

I liked changing up the design just a little from the packaging to the card.

Main Display

Here’s the whole kit, at a glance.

Below are the supplies I used on this project that are still available from the current catalog. The new Whisper White Thick Cardstock is awesome for card bases and 3D projects. The Simply Scored Tool is very necessary for most 3D projects, including this one. Fast Fuse is also instrumental in creating 3D projects.

Here are a few more examples of this project. It’s so cool to see all the designs and decide which of my relatives and friends might best like each gift box set.
